A recent merger brought together the Town of Strathroy, and the Township of Caradoc, including the villiage of Mt.Brydges and the Melbourne community. 

Strathroy is situated on Provincial Highway 402, the vital 4-lane link between Sarnia and Port Huron, Michigan, which connects to Interstate 94 and 75 running to America's heartland, and Highway 401 the Trans-Provincial Expressway, running between Windsor, Detroit and the Ontario Quebec border.

Highway 81 bisects Strathroy-Caradoc, connecting with 2 to the South and with 22 and Lake Huron cottage country to the North.

Ontario, Quebec and United States points are easily reached with this excellent Highway Network.

Strathroy-Caradoc is within a two hour drive of many cities, including:  London (35km), Toronto (240km), Sarnia (65km) and Windsor/Detroit (160km)

The rural community consists of some 240 farm properties, totalling 23,000 hectares on which is produced annual crops of tobacco, corn, wheat, soybeans and live-stock as well as some vegetables which are processed locally for resale to the public through grocery chains
